199 dtg!!!!

Oh my!!! Under the 200 mark! Sheesh! Time is flying!

I really need to find some shoes. I haven't been actively looking so that's my own fault. And looking online is really difficult, coz you don't really know if they are going to be comfortable enough!

I do like both of these from Zappos.com though.

Oh but what about these!?? These are totally chic and look oh so comfortable!!!

For those of you who don't TRULY know my taste.....I'm kidding on that last one. :)

200 dtg!!!

I don't know if anyone felt the Earthquake today in the bay area.....it was small in some areas (I didn't feel it, but saw stuff moving in the store afterwards).

The news just stated...."Today's earthquake reminded us that California is seismically overdue."

Just please.....not on our wedding day. It is, after all, the 20 year anniversary of the Big 1989 earthquake of San Francisco/Bay Area.

Oh Boy.

BloomRoom Wedding Blog

This is really cute and simple.....a little TOO many flowers, but I like the simplicity of the vases....and they even used the artichokes with the candle idea!

202 dtg!!!

Casey and I enjoyed a lovely day in San Francisco this morning, and were privy to some beautiful...albeit, windy weather. The sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Great day to spend some time with the one you love.

P.S. I still have never driven over that famous bridge. Someday.

203 dtg!!!

Threw some of my ideas by my MOH tonight; good to hear that some of the ideas are great, and got some advice on visuals and logistics. Its always nice to make sure that what I think is simple might not be confusing to another.

Watched Mamma Mia....was pretty cute. I definitely would normally not have liked it since it was a musical...but I grew up listening to ABBA so I liked the music. There were some great romantic details in that wedding too!!! Wouldn't it be amazing to get married on a bluff in Greece! Oy!

204 dtg!!!

One thing that I forgot to mention that we still need!!!

WEDDING BANDS!!!
Just a small thing...or we could just get some out of the kid vending machine at Safeway.

I am wondering about the idea of having a wine tasting tour around the weekend of the wedding....like maybe on the Friday before? For all the guests that are coming into town? Thought it might be a good idea, since that is primarily where the wedding is taking place! Who knows how busy things will be on the Friday before though...with the rehearsal dinner and all.

I also am debating on whether or not to change the map in our wedding invitations. I have it mapped out just using lines/boxes in Word. But I could actually draw out a simple yet cute map and scan it in. I'll have to ask Casey....he always helps me make a decision when I'm on the fence.

205 dtg!!!

We still need.......

  • an officiant
  • baker in Livermore for our cupcakes
  • to finalize the contract with our DJ
  • various decor for reception area
  • to finish various DIY projects (ie, invitations, escort cards, menus, ceremony program, paper pomanders, centerpieces)
  • to lay out a day of timeline

  • I still need to find shoes and jewelry

Good thing it's only the end of March.

How delicious and beautiful do those cupcakes look!? Mmmm!!!
I wish I could get some like that....but this bakery "Le Cupcakes" is in Australia....a little too far for me!

207 dtg!!!

Well.....

I'm a little bit at a loss for words right now. I came home late after hanging out with friends, and now I'm pooped.

Didn't really get much accomplished on the wedding front today....didn't even really think about it until I sat down to write the blog......there was one thing that made me think though today.

Someone asked me about school......which I am currently not in at the moment. I replied that "I am going back next year". To which they asked, "After the wedding?"...and then they made it seem like planning this wedding was taking up too much of my time.......Which I have thought about in the past. Am I wasting my time in life to plan a wedding when I should be in school?

I stress out easily at times. I figured that if I was enrolled in school, while also trying to plan this wedding, while having 2 jobs, that it might take its toll on me. Plus, if I were in school during the month of October this year......well, that would probably be difficult and getting the time off for the wedding/honeymoon/vacation....it could be a little difficult.

And to top it all off, I really am not even sure what I want to go back to school for. Art? Business? Environmental science? Who knows?

So I guess that's my excuse to that statement/question. Although I don't know if it's a good one.....or even if it is really an EXCUSE or just the truth......

208 dtg!!!

Isn't this the coolest idea? An artichoke candle holder! The only thing is though....artichokes aren't cheap!

Love love love this rustic/modern feeling. Especially the floral/succulent centerpieces. I really want to use those, but apparently they are VERY expensive! Funny thing is, they are right outside our door at the condo in Pajaro!

210 dtg!!!

Um, so did some organization today with contacts, budgets, spreadsheets, to do lists, escort cards and table numbers......

Also watched Rachel Getting Married. Very interesting movie; Anne Hathaway definitely deserved her nominations, she was intense!

It was very interesting to see the mood and tone of the wedding in the movie. Very family oriented and intimate/close. It was just so sweet and everyone seemed to have a grand old time........which always reminds me how important that is. Even though everybody says that it's "our day" or "my day"......I want everybody to have a good time and enjoy themselves!

211 dtg!!!!

Talked with a customer at work today who was doing her daughter's
calligraphy for her invitations. Made me realize that I need to keep
practicing!!!

Ironically, turns out her daughter lives in Folsom and they're getting
married in Tahoe!!! On the beach!!! Lucky!

I love green!

213 dtg!!!!

Well, today marks 7 months to the day until we get married! Crazy how time flies!!!

I have learned a lesson after today and yesterday.......do not buy anything made of glass through ebay.

I won a rectangular heavy duty vase and received it in the mail yesterday...it was completely shattered.

I won 6 votive holders and received those in the mail today.....2 of those were broken.

Funny thing.....these were two totally different sellers!

Oh well....I'll stick to Ross and discount stores, and if I have to, I can always order through a well known, established company.

214 dtg!!!

First of all.......

I AM ALIVE!!!!!

I have finally received my computer back from the dead. And it feels so nice!!!!

After 6 trips to Fry's to find the right monitor cord, my loving, perfect fiance was finally able to get it to work!!!! And it is much faster now with more storage for all my photos and music! Plus, now I have all my wedding essentials (ie, invitation layouts, excel budget spreadsheets etc).

Since that was really all we did the entire evening, I have little left to say about actual wedding info. I'm supposed to meet with the florist sometime this week to sign the contract and put down a deposit.

That's all folks!

215 dtg!!!

Finally did a mock up of the manzanita tree centerpieces!!! Painted
the branches black, created a hanging votive with wire and placed the
crystals and fake flowers. It gave Casey and the rest of his fam an
idea of what I have been trying to acheive.

Now we just need to finalize the size of the boxes and figure out how
all of these will be transported/created on the big day!!!

216 dtg!!!!

(should have been blogged on Saturday march 14, but was on the way
back from Pville late, too tired!)

Took this picture out of a magazine... Love all the green tones!! I
will be using a lot of those green orchid flowers..... At least that's
what I've decided on for now. :)

217 dtg!!!!

Came across some of these cool paper projects that I think would be a fun element to add, and a great way to get all of my crafty friends involved.

Image found at inthisinstance.com

This mobile it really pretty.

The paper flower in the bottom left is cute. I could totally see using old newspapers with black, green, purple and orange papers......have one flower for the back of each chair....and they would all be so different and unique...I think that would be cool.

218 dtg!!!

I have this debate in my head.....

Should I get white shoes to match my dress? Or should I be bold and different and get colored shoes....like blue, or green, or purple or black...... I mean, you don't really see them unless they peek through. White is so elegant, and traditional....but I'm trying to be different in some ways.

All that really matters in the end is that they are comfortable.

219 dtg!!!

So, we still need to figure out who is going to marry us. Yeah, it's kind of a big deal....but we're not sure if we want some random stranger to do it or someone that we know. I know someone from Pavia that can do it, and is a very spiritual, loving person. Or we have thought about getting one of our close friends......problem is we have no idea who, and some/most of them are already in the wedding party.

It's something that we're struggling with.

220 dtg!!!

Well surprisingly Casey really liked the ring idea!? The only thing is that finding a jeweler that actually does that may be a little hard. The one in the picture was from New York, and I found some others in Britain. So...we'll see.

I realized that I really should be keeping up on my invitations....I just haven't been motivated to get out the old knife and scissors after coming home from work. I figure once my computer is back....then the real fun begins I guess.

I won some crystals on eBay last night. Just some more to add to the collection for the trees.

How cute/romantic is this? Get your loved ones finger print engraved into your wedding band. So sweet......betchu Casey would think this is lame......

222 dtg!

Love love love this!

There is an outdoor fireplace in the courtyard, which has a little ledge in front of it. This would be perfect there, or along any of the walk ways.

So today, I started my collection by checking out Ross. I figure I'll just gradually build up the collection over the next couple of months, plus see if I can borrow extras from anyone willing to lend them for a day.....or I can also rent them!

223 dtg!!!

Well, both florists were a little bit of a disappointment.

First one went okay. Casey wasn't impressed, and seemed to think that the florist wasn't overly thrilled with my ideas--or that he "poo-pooed some of them." I wasn't wowed with any of his pictures; they were just so so. He wasn't able to give us any paperwork with prices on the spot, but said he would e-mail them. He did however inform us that delivery was $150.....seriously? It's within the same town? We definitely could pick them up if we wanted to cut costs, but that was a red flag there!

The next one was very nice, but hard to understand. She had a very thick Asian accent, and I was worried when she wasn't understanding some of the things that I had envisioned. She didn't even understand what a dahlia was....she just looked at me and stared. So while, she was nice and friendly, and her prices were lower....you get what you pay for. I know I would be uber nervous leading up to the wedding, not knowing if I was going to get what I wanted.

That being said, we've decided to go with Nona at Floral Design Studio. Hopefully she calls back to confirm that she still has that date open (I had to leave a message). But we are really excited to work with her. She had great ideas, and was very flexible!!!

Another thing to check off the list!

224 dtg!!!

(supposed to post this last night, Friday march 6th.... Got caught up
in some reading!!)

Took this picture at Barnes and Noble in one of the wedding flower magazines out there.....love the color combo! Just what I'm looking for!

We're off to the florists now.....Hopefully we'll be surprised and here some great news/ideas.

Thursday, March 5, 2009

225 dtg!!!

From theknot.com

Love this simple, cute array of flowers.....would love this idea in the courtyard for the cocktail tables

Confirmed two more floral appointments for Saturday....these should be the last two needed before we can make a final decision.

REALLY looking forward to getting my computer back......it's been over a month, and I need all my wedding spreadsheets and invitation layouts back! Hopefully only one more week left!

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

226 dtg!!!

So, I've been meaning to start my collection of items for the all hanging votives, both on the trees and for the ceremony. I found some flickering battery operated candles at OSH today for about $1 each (yeah, that's the going rate online too).

And if I can't collect enough Mason jars from various sources for free....OSH has a dozen for $10, so not bad! Plus, I think it would be cool to use these to hold random flower arrangements in the courtyard.

Then I just need the votive holders (for in the trees) which I think are .60 each online, and the wire to hang them all.....plus all the man power to make these things!

227 dtg!!!

I love the shades of green.....very soothing and calming. It's a good thing that so many flowers and plants come in green!

And the drama of black and white (or brown and white) is so elegant and formal.
Love it!

After looking at more and more blogs, there are so many ideas, that my brain seems to be swimming! I end up having to write things down or draw them out so I can keep everything straight! And then in a day or two.......when I come back to them, I usually change my mind! Hah!

Monday, March 2, 2009

228 dtg!!!

Found at bridalbar.com

This is beautiful. I would love to do this, but chandeliers are obviously expensive-- well, this wedding of 6 guests was so small, they could definitely pay attention to quality of details. It's just so elegant and magical! And they even put roses in the chandelier!

229 dtg!!!!

Watched an episode of Bridezilla today..... Friggin hilarious. This
one bride was so picky with her caterer that she ended up insulting/
angered the owner who ended up calling all of his catering friends in
town....... Telling them not to work with her. Classic!

That's what you get for being a bitch!
