It's only been a couple hours at the beach and we have already been
for a walk and fun photoshoot. Should be a fun weekend!

351 dtg!!

We're both so excited for our mini vacation. We've got all our movies lined up for the weekend and warm clothes....since it's supposed to rain pretty much all weekend. So much for playing tennis.
We've got Ironman (which I've already seen twice, so whoopdie do), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (which we both saw in the theaters and loved), Leatherheads (with John Kranzinski! Yumm) and for Halloween evening....The Happening. Yes I know, it's not the scariest movie, but we hate horror flicks. This is the most I could convince Casey to do on Halloween since he despises the holiday. That's actually why we are going to Pajaro....to get away from the "madness" that is Halloween.
Other than movies....I'm sure there are sports that Casey will be watching as I read a book or sit and look out the window at the rain. I'm sure we will have a cribbage match too. We may even get around to talking about wedding stuff. As you could probably tell....I do all the researching and then bring the ideas to his attention, get his opinion and then we move on from there. There are certain things that he doesn't quite care about, like flowers and colors/decor. But I still like to get his input.
It'll be a great time....I'll be sure to take pics.

Us on the beach a couple years ago....unfortunately it won't be that sunny this time. Still great time to relax

352 dtg!

After another wedding surfing extravanganza, I stumbled onto the website http://www.offbeatbride.com/, where there were plenty of funny/weird pictures of all kinds of weddings.....laid back, kooky, creative and just plaing weird! But they all seemed like they were having a good time!
This one was actually in San Francisco....gettin married on stilts! Craaazzay!!!
This one was somewhere in the Bay Area....also circus themed!! Hahaha....nice hats.

She must really love the color purple....and black.

This centerpiece is made of dried flowers and Peeps. Yes...the marshmallow bunnies and chickies.
Hey....whatever floats your boat!!!

353 dtg!!!

This is my first post from my phone. With the great technology of the iPhone, I can send an email to blogger and post from anywhere! I had to figure something out for when I am away from my computer--- like this weekend, when we go to Pajaro for a couple days.

We're both really excited about a weekend at the beach.......even though we will most likely be inside the whole time coz it's supposed to rain. But we love to light a fire, watch movies and just
relax. Good, old fashioned, quality time together.

354 dtg

I always stumble onto more and more blogs that have great info/inspiration. I mean...........there are literally a gizillion bride blogs out there. A funny one that I have recently found is http://www.thepissedoffbride.com/ . The only thing she is pissed off about is the ridiculous prices on wedding stuff.....I concur.

I found these cool rub-on monograms. They are kinda pricy- $ 180 for 2 colors. But I wonder if my venue would even let me put it on the wall. It says that it comes off safely, and doesn't ruin the paint. But, who knows.

I have definitely thought about lighting. I know that it can probably get expensive to have someone come in and do it. Maybe the DJ/entertainment that we go with will have something available. Look at the difference!

I have definitely come to the conclusion that even though, I hate drama (emotionally)...that's what I would like my wedding to have (visually)--as far as the colors and lighting goes at least. No boring white-and-pink-out-in-the-country-at-the-town-hall kinda thing. BLAH!

355 dtg....

It's only 8:32pm.....and I feel like it should be midnight. Weird.

I have realized that Casey is an angel. Everyone has their hangups in their own relationships...their pet peeves....casey and i have ours for sure. But they are small....minute even, in the big scheme of things......there's something that he does everyday that reminds me of how much I love him.

He helped me get over my pounding headache today.
We successfully carved a pumpkin together.
He made me laugh.... once by trying on a sweater that was just a little bit too small for him.
He just came into the living room.......to tell me he loved me. No Joke.

356 dtg...

Another great day in the future Maguire residence.....well, one Maguire already resides here, but you get the point.

I actually got to do some painting today, which was nice.

Going to a girl's night shindig, which is always fun. I mean, I love hanging out with Casey, he's my best friend....but I think I have had my fill of sports today. I can only take so much football and poker. Thankfully the Sharks were playing today, so we always enjoy that together.

This point in time of the engagement/planning process does not have much that is really pressing, so these posts are getting boring...I know. But once January comes around...there will be lots to do. Right now, it's all research and trying things out.....which is fine! I like that.....less of a chance for procrastination and stress. :)

357 dtg....

I was watching the show on TLC "Say Yes to the Dress".....its so funny watching brides try on dresses. Yes, women all have different styles and tastes....but some of the ones that they end up purchasing just seem so ridiculous to me!!

One woman ended up loving this HUGE cinderella like dress, with lots of ruching and bows and roses.....it was a little too much for my taste. But the mother was crying and everyone seemed to love it...so she ended up getting the "dream dress" for $9,100!!!!! Jimminy Xmas!!!!

One other lady ended up choosing this "rock and roll" gown that had lots of ruffles--the bottom actually looked like it was made out of toilet paper, seriously--and there was a HUGE slit up the front of her leg!!! Little too risky for me!

I am just so excited to find my dream dress....I have already tried on some in Placerville and I think I have found the one that I LOVE.....but I would like to try one some more just to be sure....and coz it's fun!!! You only get married once!

358 dtg...

I was laying in bed, about to fall asleep, when I realized....I forgot to blog today!!!!! I jumped out of bed, raced down to stairs to make it in time before midnight. Phew!

The reason why I forgot was probably because I became so consumed by mathastewart.com's seating program! It is just so cool!--Yes, I know....its a year away and I am already thinking about the seating chart.....I am that excited/organized/anal about my wedding.

So anyway, you create the tables and then drag and drop the guests names onto the table....its just so handy and gives you a very good visual of where everyone is.
This is just a general idea of what Martha enables you to do....
After doing a very rough mock-up.....I realized just what everyone says about the seating charts and how they can be very frustrating...here's to keeping my hopes up!

359 dtg...

my inspiration

Started to make a mock-up of my invitations.....realized that I have so much work to do when it comes to actually creating all 75 of them. I still have plenty of time to finalize the design and find all the right papers at the right price......I don't have to send them out for another 7 months or so.

Maybe it's because I have not been invited to many weddings, and I have not seen that many invitations......but what exactly is needed in the invitation? When, where (maybe directions and a map), rsvp/response card.....is that all?

360 dtg!!!

These are some awful-ly bad wedding dresses.....you know I wouldn't be caught dead in any of these!!!

361 dtg!

Well.....I really don't know if this post is going to have much to do with the wedding.

I was talking to an acquaintance....someone who I took one class with at San Jose City a while ago. We still see each other at our places of work, and recently I mentioned that I am getting married in a year. He thought that was very cool and exciting; then he mentioned his girlfriend's sister who had her bachelorette party. Apparently they video taped it and wanted him to watch it with them. He thought that was weird and didn't want to see the craziness and left the room!? Who knows, maybe there was a male dancer.....or the chicas were just crazy.

Anyway, we got to talking and I said that I have seen/been to some crazy ones, but I am pretty conservative. He was surprised and didn't see me that way! It was interesting to realize that someone who hardly knows me would see me differently than I really am, or what I see myself to be. I don't dress crazy or outlandish and I am not necessarily the most outgoing person......but that is how I see myself. I sometimes forget that the slightest change in my actions or my appearance could cause someone to think that I am totally different than I really am. I find myself boring, conservative and shy......wonder what he sees?

Anyway, he reminded me that you only live once, and you only get married once....so might as well do it up big ya know!?? Hmmm.....we'll see.

362 dtg!!!

Sometimes, the workings of our subconscious amazes me. It's just such an amazing aspect of our brain and our lives. I was looking for a movie to watch, and took the advantage of watching my chick flick by myself.....even though Casey bought this for me.

After watching my all time favorite movie, I had no idea how much this movie had influenced my wedding style! I had always wondered why I had certain tastes, likes/dislikes compared to other brides.... and after watching this movie again- which I haven't seen this movie in like 2 years- I realized where my influences come from!!! There were a couple different aspects and details that I am incorporating, and maybe this was all taken subconsciously from this movie....coz I just love it so much! But most of all....the love that these two share together is just so captivating. That's what I want....I can just picture Casey and I as 2 people who are growing old, but their love never fades over time.

___________________________________________________________________________

On another note, I cannot believe that this happened to someone on their wedding day. Watching it makes me cringe!

Casey says its fake....but if that did happen to us, he would jump in with me. Awwww

363 dtg (days to go)

Today was somewhat of a successful day! We traveled to Livermore, drove around town and took a look at the possible rehearsal dinner location. Quite cute and looks like lots of fun!

After using my iphone map, we got quite lost and Casey got a little irritated...but how could he get irritated with me! My map doesn't tell me when we are headed to a military base when I thought we were heading to a park!! Seriously!

Anyway, we finally made our way over to the wedding location, and got a good idea of weather conditions and what the lighting would be like so we could make a decision as to when we will start the ceremony/reception. So that was a big relief off our shoulders......well, at least mine. I want the lighting for the pictures to be just right....coz well, I am a freak when it comes to pictures. Casey suggested we just forget about the wedding and have a day of pictures! Forget about all the guests, just get dressed up in gown and tux and spend the rest of the afternoon/evening taking the perfect pictures. I had a good laugh.

We also narrowed our registry choices which (in my mind) is another thing to check off the list. I am all about the lists.....gotta keep it organized.

And of course, it wouldn't have been a trip to Livermore/Dublin without a dinner at Fuddruckers. And it was delicious as always.

364 days to go!!!

This blog is intended to capture the journey of planning our wedding. Yeah, Casey says that sounds really sappy, cheesy, and corny, but a girl only gets to do this once, so I am taking advantage of it! I will definitely post important information on here-some that may already be on our other wedding website at The Knot.com. But I will also post ideas, but leave everything up in the air ........have to leave some of it a surprise!!

So today is the day; in one year, I will officially be a Maguire. It's so exciting! I know that it is going to fly by! I mean, these past few months of the engagement have just slipped by! We have been so busy!!! But at least we have gotten some things done, so that is great.

Of course I have registered at TheKnot.com (I actually registered 1 month before Casey proposed to me coz I was just so anxious to start looking at venues and ideas! Haha!) So I have started our own wedding website where guests can get information on the details of the wedding.

Venue for ceremony and reception: Martinelli Event Center

Photographers: Now to Eternity

There are definitely other things that have been decided in my head.....as far as colors and decor are concerned. But for now, those are the only 2 contracts we have signed.
