My Hubby keeps me warm

He's such a caring guy. I was settled into bed last night, very comfy, cozy and comfortable after fixing the bed....if you know me and the sheets.......I am a bed Nazi.....everything has to be straight, pristine and crisp. Don't ask me why.

Anyway, the kitty had curled up right next to me, so we were bonding.....and my feet were cold! I didn't want to get up and disturb the kitty! So Casey graciously grabbed some socks out of the dresser drawer and put them on my feet, while I was still lying in bed. How sweet of him!

And then I come home to a clean, warm house.......ahh, the married life!

TITLE OF NEW BLOG!!!??

Need some suggestions for the title of this new "newlywed" blog..... Casey wants it to be something that I do for the rest of our lives....or at least a LONG time.....

What do y'all think?

The Honeymoon is over!

Casey and I inside the Venetian

Reality is back....Today was my first day back at work, and Casey's first day back at school. It was different, but nice. Nice to be back in somewhat of a routine......even if it meant getting up way early to a dead car battery. Yeah, nice morning.

But after the wonderful wedding and fantastic honeymoon, I have gotten comments/suggestions to continue the blog, as newlyweds!

Stories will be shared, photos will be posted, just like before.

I think I will even post some tidbits from the wedding that maybe not everyone got to see. There were so many details that not everyone noticed.....and I would like to point those out.

As more and more pictures come in, both professional and amateur.......I will be so excited to share....

I am officially a Maguire!

Wow.....the day has come and gone. Just like that. Poof!

It was absolutely amazing. I didn't want the day to end obviously. I had so much fun in my dress, with all my friends and family, it was just too surreal.

The weather was perfect. Not too hot and not windy, so it wasn't too cold. All of the decorations totally lived up to my expectations and beyond. Everything looked stunning.

I am really looking forward to pictures. From all of the guests, and the photographers. Plus, my wonderful BIL had his video camera, so a lot of the important stuff was on camera. Can't wait to see that!!

All in all, it was a fabulous experience planning the wedding with Casey and getting all of our friends and family involved. There were sooooooo many people that helped to make the day a success, that I am getting dizzy thinking of all the thank you notes I would like to write! It was just a labor of love that's for sure!

Now we're all packed to leave in the morning for Vegas!!! Casey has already yelled out to strangers when he is looking for his wife......it's the cutest thing. We're so happy together!

I'm getting married today!!!!!

Stayed up long enough, writing my vows that I am able to say that at
midnight!!! Whoo hoo!!!!

I'm getting married tomorrow!!!!!!!

The countdown is finally over and the day is here. Tomorrow all of our
hard work will have paid off and we hope for a beautiful memorable day!!

Tonight we had rehearsal with most of the bridal party and some
family. It was a little emotional and I'm sure it will be hard to get
through tomorrow, but we're all there, sharing the moment together.

After the rehearsal, we headed to Campo Di Bocce and had a wonderful
dinner and then played bocce ball. It was great to see everyone, and
have everyone meet one another.

I definitely missed Dad at certain parts of the evening, thinking
about him playing and him laughing. And then I heard one of his
favorite songs playing over the sound system, and thought that he
played that song for us....... To remind us that he is there with all
of us, enjoying the festivities.

So now it's time to rest my poor eyes. Getting up early for yoga, and
then a long day of getting ready and marrying the man in my life.

Thank you to all my readers out there (whether you are a closet reader
or not) I appreciate you listening to all of my ideas, plans, and life
stories.

I am thinking about starting a blog after the honeymoon, as a Newlywed
blog.

Anybody interested in that one? Let me know.

1 day left to go!!!!!!

Oh my goodness, the day is almost here!

After loading up my car with all the goodies, I headed to Livermore.
It was quite a surreal drive, especially after getting a call from my
sister that she just got out of the hospital after dislocating her
shoulder. Yeah, life works in mysterious ways, that's for sure!

Headed to my afternoon manicure appointment, which was long!!!! Don't
know if I will get fake nails again....just doesn't seem worth it. But
for this one occasion, it's fine!

Then had a nice dinner with the family that has already arrived.

Now I'm settled into my room and trying to fall asleep....when I start
to write my wedding vows in the dark on the hotel
stationary.....nothing like leaving it to the last minute eh?

2 days to go!!!!!

(Supposed to be written on Wednesday October 14th, 2009)

Let another night slip away from me, but that was due to serious mayhem and organizing. Trying to get everything in the car to head out to Livermore.

I did have a wonderful day at the spa though. Was very well taken care of and relaxed. I could definitely get used to that feeling of getting pampered all day! But alas, it was only for a day.....a day of bliss!

Now Casey and I are starting to get a little nervous/anxious with the butterflies in our stomachs. We made it official this morning and got our marriage license! Yeah!!!!!

3 days to go!!!!

Oh my. Today it started to hit me, as my FSIL and I were out running a bunch more errands.

I had to find earrings for my mom.
And an outfit for the rehearsal dinner on Friday.
I picked up a gift certificate for someone.
Got my makeup done and purchased all new foundations and eye shadows.
Then it was home to watch a girly movie, do my homework, sort through laundry and exercise.

Tomorrow will be very different though........after we finally get our marraige license, Casey will be running all the errands, while I will be at the spa.....

A sugar scrub
A massage
Eyebrow maintenance
Pedicure
Facial

That will take all day, and then I have a midterm to do in the evening!

Then home to take care of last minute things. Oh boy, here we go!

4 days to go!!!!

(supposed to be posted on Monday September 12, 2009)

I got consumed with stuff to do and just forgot about the blog. I guess that's what happens when you don't write for a week.

Seems like everybody and their brother got their hair done yesterday. So the beautifi-ing process has begun.

We also ran a bunch of errands that I can't even remember. Look at that.....it was just yesterday and I can't remember. Shows you how the days are blurring together.

Did some more reminiscing about Dad and was actually able to laugh at some of his pictures. I have to start scanning a bunch of them for his memorial in November.

5 days to go!

This last week seems like it all blurred together. And normally you would think that's because of all the wedding prep to be done, schedules to keep and so forth. But really, time came to a halt.......

On Sunday evening, while I thought my life was going swimmingly and perfect, I was printing out itineraries and program pages, when my life was completely interrupted. Casey came through the door, when he should have been at work, and had to tell me that my father was gone.

He was killed in a work related accident on his jobsite. A piece of equipment malfunctioned, rolled down a bank, pinning him down and crushing him instantly............. He was not going to be there on my wedding day to walk me down the aisle.

I screamed, cried, was in complete shock and denial......thinking no, this is not happening to me. Why!??? I just didn't want to believe what I was hearing. Calls were made and panic mode set in......and Casey and I made our way up to Placerville to be with my family.

The rest of the week seems very surreal. Definitely one that I don't like looking back on, but feel I must in order to remind myself that he really, truly is gone.

I have my good moments, and my sad moments (I don't like saying bad moments, because they're not bad....they are normal.....I just get sad, nostalgic and emotional.) I know that he is always around me, and with me wherever I go. He will be smiling at me and all of us on our wedding day. That I am sure. He was so very excited to enjoy the day and be there with everyone. I remember my mom describing to me when he was fitted for his tuxedo, and how proud he was to say "I'm the father of the bride."

Now we must remember the great moments that we shared with him, and what a great life he lived with all of us. I hear many wonderful stories about him from friends and family, and realize how many people were touched by his warmth, laughter and kindness. It helps to keep his memories alive in my heart.

So now, we look ahead to our wedding day, which will be a little different, but even more special. Now that Casey and I understand how precious life can be, and how important and valuable a marriage is, it is that much more meaningful to us now.

Even though my brother will be walking me down that aisle, I know Dad will be on the other side of me, smiling (and I'm sure shedding a tear), for his little girl who has grown up too fast.

13 dtg!!!!

2 weeks from today......yowsa.

Today was a SUPER productive day!

Glued all the paper flowers and pearls onto the black centerpiece boxes, so those are now done and ready to be packed!

Painted, ribbonized and glue a flower onto hannah's flower basket. Super darling, to go with her adorable dress that she got today! Perfect timing!

Trimmed all the photograph business cards.

Trimmed, folded and glued the programs. There are still a few pages that we have to do, but they should be completed by the end of the week! They turned out great and the in-laws and FSIL were a lot of help!

Setup a display/sample of the tables at the reception to send to our planners, so they have an idea of what we're going for.

Updated the seating chart to make some better accomodations........ then went to work! and came home to see the Sharks win. Yeah....busy busy! But getting so close to be all finished!

14 dtg!!!

Today was catch up day........catch up on sleep and relaxation with a nice facial in the morning.

Catch up on laundry.....that was looong overdue.

Catch up on cleaning.

And then the usual wedding stuff ensued..... printed out the program pages for tomorrow.
Printed out itineraries for the hotel guests.
Printed out the beverage menu for the bar.
Glued the green ribbon on the cupcake tiers.....which means the cupcake tower is officially done!

And now it is off to bed, as I have to rise early for another busy day tomorrow at the in-laws!

15 dtg!!!!

Today was another super busy day......work then straight to the bar where Casey works so my FSIL and I could watch the Sharks game. That's right! You know it's getting close because hockey just started! Yikes! Although they didn't do all too well, it was only the first game, so that's what I need to keep reminding myself.

I'm printing out the pages to the programs as we speak, so that they will be prepared for Saturday assemble day! Saturday will be one big last hurrah of wedding stuff as We/I need to......

cut, fold, glue/assemble all 90 programs

paint/decorate the flower girl basket

attach the flowers/doo-dads onto the purple ribbon on the centerpiece boxes

Plus Casey has other things to do with the escort cards, his suit and the ring that we are still searching to find for him.

Everything is getting there! About a week and a half left to do it in!
