78 dtg!!!!

Today was the end of an era.

Casey and I spent our last day working together after 5 years, 30 weeks and 1 day. Yes, I remember the exact place where I first saw him, I remember the day that I started-he was off that day, but the next day he worked with me, coming in at 10:30 after his morning classes at Deanza. Man that seems like such a long time ago. A lot has happened since then!

And now he is off to a new job, new career path and a better place where his talents can flourish and hopefully his hopes for his future are satisfied. It will definitely be tough over the next few weeks, getting used to a new schedule where he and I work at opposite times. But eventually all the details will be ironed out and we will be able to spend plenty of time together.

It just seems weird that we started out in a relationship where we worked together and were around each other A LOT. And we never got sick of one another. A lot of people say, oh don't work with your spouse or significant other....that can get ugly. We never found it that way! And when couples are in relationships they might not see each other as much in the beginning and then once they get married, they live together and see each other more often, so sometimes it can be difficult to deal with the change. But for us it's flip flopped, so we will see what happens! Time together will be that much more important and precious!

And onto wedding stuff.....

I finally have the first batch of invitations to send out....all the Canadian ones. Since they take longer to get to their destinations, we are sending them out now. And once I get the USA ones addressed, and sealed, those will probably go out early next week. I WISH I could send them all out right now, but it's already 11:00pm, I'm tired and I still have 10 or so more to do. So I will save those for Sunday after we get back from Pville.....

Yep...another trip to Pville.....for my DRESS FITTING!!!! Wheeeee!!!!! I haven't seen or tried my dress on for a few months, so I'm sure it will fit differently after my body has changed shape again. I just love putting it on though!!! So while I'm doing that with my mom, Casey and my dad will be golfing for sure.

79 dtg!!!!

Well, so much for 26 invites....I maybe got 10 done.....with all the errands to do and studying, I didn't have much time. Hopefully more will get done tomorrow evening.

Looking forward to getting this test over with! Then back to wedding madness in the evenings.

80 dtg!!!!

While I was upstairs studying...(again...cannot wait for this class to be done)....Casey was being a big help with the invites that we are trying to get out this weekend..

He went through all the ones that are done and double checked spelling, addresses, stamps and made sure everything was in its place.
The kitty however, was quite the pistol and pouced, stood and laid all over the invites much to Casey's dismay....

Here he is picking a fight with the Thornton....

26. That's my lucky number for tomorrow. 26 invitations that I need to have properly written out, addressed, stamped and sealed. Hopefully I can do it!

81 dtg!!!!

I realized that a year ago today we were at Casey's parents house celebrating our engagement....we've been engaged for a year!!! Look how fast it has gone by, my goodness!
After realizing I had no concrete idea for how I wanted to decorate Hannah's basket, I took to the internet in search of other DIY baskets. And man I found some cute ones!

This is my first pick. Just simple flowers coverin the entire basket. And this color would look really great with the other greens and whites.

This one is actually done with a chinese take out box! Very crafty and cute, but I think a little small.

This is another simple way with flowers from Martha Stewart.

I really like the rustic natural feel of this basket. SO cute.

Oh what to do...what to do!

82 dtg!!!!

Today I was tired.....but I still went to work.

Today I was hungry....so I ate some delicious brownies.....oh boy, more excersing tomorrow!

Today I studied.....for the test I have on Thursday.....its' approaching fast and only 10 more chapters to go! Jeebus!

Today I talked about the wedding.....dreamed about the wedding.....got nervous about the wedding.....got excited about the wedding.....got stressed about the wedding.... but did nothing about it.

83 dtg!!!!

We for sure got a lot done today! All with the help of my future in-laws....Casey not so much. He was so tired after golfing that he crashed on the couch.....I couldn't blame him though. He did wake up at 4am.

  • Finished 3 out of 12 pomanders.
  • Finally found shepherd hooks for said pomanders
  • Stamped all the cocktail napkins.
  • Tested out the clay to hold the trees in place in the boxes (for the centerpieces)
  • Decided how to adhere ribbon to boxes of said centerpieces
  • Figured out the rock situation for the boxes of centerpieces
  • Showed my FSIL/bridesmaid the construction of trees so she can help recreate on wedding day
  • Finalized design of cupcake tower to be constructed by FFIL
  • Stamped some votives, which turned out to be harder than I would think. Those will take some time to do, since there are 72 of them
  • Purchased Hannah's flower girl basket, which needs to be designed and decorated
  • Finished the remaining 5 frames for table names/numbers
  • Decided on how to display the escort cards!!! All thanks to Casey, he came up with a very cute idea
Wow....all in a days work! Thanks to the fam!

84 dtg!!!!!

I felt like I was chained to my desk this evening....I had an assignment to finish, a paper to write and studying to do for a test I have next Thursday. Yeah....I sat here for about 5 hours and said "okay, I've had enough!".....and went to YOGURTLAND!!!! Man that place is good. Really bad for the diet, but I'm going to run again tomorrow, so it's all good.

After giving up on studying for the night....I bought my bridal shoes!!!!! $86 on eBay, with free shipping! They are coming from LA, so they should be here within the week. Hopefully they will fit! If not there is an exchange policy.

Tomorrow will be a very productive wedding day I am sure!

Well....it's 12:39....so actually its tomorrow already!!!! I took a nap this afternoon, and then the yogurtland probably didn't help the situation, but I am WIDE AWAKE!!!!

Found this awesomely funny and cool wedding video. Hilarious entrance.

85 dtg!!!!

ENVELOPES CAME IN!!!!!! ENVELOPES CAME IN!!!!!!!

Whoo hoo!!!! I can finally finish calligraphy-ing all my envelopes so they are ready to send out at the end of the month!

I also had Casey trim the boards for the table numbers......

I bought the remaining frames needed for the tables......

I also bought some decorative doo dads for various DIY projects that need to be finished......

And now I need to continue with my homework.....only one week left thank goodness!

86 dtg!!!!

Went and updated our registry again, probably will be the last time I look at it, since I don't want to ruin the surprise anymore......but a bunch of stuff was no longer available online so we had to delete those. Then I was finally able to find a shower curtain for my bathroom at Crate & Barrel. The only thing left is now to pick out my towel colors to go with the shower curtain! Details!

Realized the other night that we have to reschedule our engagement shoot since Casey will no longer be able to take weekend trips up to Placerville. So we're waiting to hear back from Sean on which Monday will work best for him.

Talked to Casey about our signature drink....thinking about the possibility of a Sangria, since we will have wine and Sangria can be refreshing. I will have to check with Jacquelynn at Martinelli to see if that is a possibility.

Well, that should be it for now......since I really should be either studying, or writing a paper, or reading. Tsk Tsk!!!!

87 dtg!!!!

Today was full of wedding!!! Maybe because I am constantly reminded of it, and realizing what is to be done....yeesh!

Searched for shepherd hooks online today to try and find where they may be. Turns out Joann's, Walmart or Home Depot. So I enlisted one of my trusty bridesmaids to take a look at some point.

I also started to figure out when and where to do the craft party-or parties. We may end up doing a couple since there is so much to be done.

My FFIL surprised me today with some door knob hangers that he cut out.........
Yeah, he cut out that damask design by hand with one of his many trusty tools. Crazy eh!? So this is going to be painted, decorated and placed inside the out-of-town guests rooms to use or take home....just another little thank you.
Talked with Casey about the remaining items that need to get done.....as well as went over the invitations that still need to be addressed. The hard thing is I am still waiting on the rest of the envelopes from work. Hopefully they will be here by the end of the month, because those babies need to be in the mail soon!!!!

I received my bridal shower invitation today...........how cute is this!????!!!!!!!

I just love it. It's so cute! And they enclosed a recipe card for guests to send their favorite recipe....coz yeah.....I'm gonna need those. :)

88 dtg!!!!

We can go get our marriage license any day now. Marriage licenses in CA are valid for 90 days, so we are under the time frame! I just looked up all the info needed and it looks like it costs $45 and up.

I think my test went well. I wasn't able to study as much as I would have liked.......that's what you get for having so much fun the weekend before!

Saw a couple pictures from the weekend, and there are more coming. Maybe I will post a few of Casey and I!

I need to start getting this DIY craft party planning underway. Would like to do it sometime before school is back in session for some people since everyone has such crazy schedules sometimes. I'm guessing within the next few weeks!?

89 dtg!!!!

Home from LA! Had a great time, but glad to be back in my own bed.

Should actually be in bed right now studying for my big test tomorrow. I also need to catch up on some sleep since this weekend proved that I wasn't so young anymore!

Hopefully we will be able to meet our officiant sometime this week?! Yeah.....still have yet to do that. REALLY getting nervous.

90 dtg!!!!

(Supposed to be posted on Saturday July 18th, 2009)
Had another fun filled day in LA. Went to Universal Studios and saw LOTS of cool stuff and went on some cool rides! It was just a teensy bit too hot and there were A LOT of people. But it was really cool to be there where they film so many great shows and movies. And I got wet of course......after the earthquake started in the subway, the water just poured into the tram, right onto me! And after the shark from jaws came out and sprayed me. Yeah.....but it was funny!
We then headed to a family friend's birthday party which was in this cute garden area behind the restaurant. Very quaint and sweet. Couple things I made note of while there since it was a very similar event to a wedding......
Seat 8 people to a table. 10 was a little tight.
Don't have so many water, wine, alcoholic beverage glasses on the table....it got WAY crowded.
Keep the music level down during dinner. I would actually like my guests to be able to converse to the person next to them.
The buffet is the way to go. We were served our salad, and our main course didn't come for a while, which resulted in people dancing before/during dinner. Weird?
I wasn't feeling too well and hadn't any interest in dancing, which was kind of a bummer since it would have been fun to dance with Case. But my body was saying no. I guess we'll just have to wing it on October 17th!

91 dtg!!!!

3 months to go....to the day!! Cannot believe it is getting that
close! It is unreal.

But wasn't able to think about the wedding today......had bigger fish
to fry in Disneyland! It was an awesome day filled with lots to do! I
even teared up when we walked into the park....it was just so magical
and surreal. I couldn't believe I was finally there!

Casey was quite the trooper! He went on all the rides with me!! But
now we are exhusted and sore from so much trekking around the
park....and still have another full day of fun at Universal tomorrow!
Guess we aren't that young anymore!

92 dtg!!!

Just made it into LA with Casey and the in laws. I can't believe how
expansive this city is!! It just keeps on going!

Tomorrow is DISNEYLAND!!!!! It will definitely be a long day!!! I'm
sure I will be exhausted but it will so be worth it!

I guess my bridal shower invites went out today! Exciting! I haven't
even seen em yet, but my bridesmaids are doing a great job!! Totally
putting all my trust in them!

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

93 dtg!!!!

Well I really should be packing right now (FOR DISNEYLAND!!!!), but I saw these blank painted balls just sitting there and really wanted to see what they would look like.....so I played.....and the kitty helped me, or at least kept swatting at the ribbon...

Here are the two different green ones side by side. On the right is the original one my MOH and I did that was covered in the green ribbon. We liked it, but I thought the cost might increase because of all the ribbon I would have to purchase to cover an entire ball. That is why I painted them green (seen in previous posts). So the one on the left is the painted one, without ribbon around it. I definitely think the painted one looks like grass underneath...which is a good thing!

So here is a finished green pomander all by itself. I think by itself along the aisle it might be too small.

Look at my lovely vanna white helping me out for the picture! Here is the orange and green pomander together. They would each hang on one hook together and the green pomander ribbon would be longer so that it is beneath the orange......this ribbon is too long so that I would have to tinker with.

I'm really still debating on how to hang these. I guess I will have to find some sheperd hooks in order to experiment and see how they turn out.

This also means I need to buy more balls.

94 dtg!!!!

Picked out some pearl adornments from work that I need to purchase for some decorations. Some will probably end up on the cupcake tiers, some on the boxes that will hold the manzanita centerpieces....and some probably on the welcoming cards for the hotel guests.

I also still need to buy 5 frames for the table names/numbers.

Tomorrow will be work and packing for Disneyland!!!! Can't believe it's almost here! So excited!!!

95 dtg!!!

Another evening spent reading, taking sample quizzes, and studying in my psychology class. There is just so much to take in, and even though I am doing really well on all the assignments......it's hard to recall what it is that I have learned.

I did paint an iridescent layer on the green balls (for the pomanders) to make them shine/sparkle a little bit underneath the paper flowers that will be pinned to them. I would have taken a picture for the blog, but you probably wouldn't have been able to tell a difference.

I am hoping to get Casey to trim the table number boards so I can start to glue those down.....that is going to be a tricky job......actually a sticky job.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

96 dtg!!!!

8:13pm: Gosh....it's already past 8 o'clock. I feel like I barely got anything done today. I was able to paint some of the styrofoam balls for the pomanders.......the green ones will be for the green flowers. And the yellow one, well I had painted it to see what it would look like with orange paper flowers, but it was no beuno. So I just kept it yellow and will use it for the orange tissue paper pomanders......here they are drying....... exciting I know.....

8:16pm: I guess I could get back to my homework. I am already a week ahead, which is essential since we're going to Disneyland and I need to be prepared for the test on the Monday after.
8:51pm: After reading a little bit about infants learning language, I decided that I can finish my assignment and post it tomorrow after work. Instead, I watched some old Chris Daughtry videos on YouTube. Productive I know.
9:01pm: And now I've been disctracted again.........by none other than a Johnny Depp movie that I have never seen..... Sleepy Hollow! Good thing Casey is so understanding. :)

Saturday, July 11, 2009

97 dtg!!!

Well, another evening with my head in the textbook........although I was able to do a little artwork and organize all my paints.

Casey also cut out some more menus, which I then punched out the corners.

I also punched out some flowers for the smaller pomanders.

Tomorrow..........well, I don't know what is quite in store. But I hope to get a lot done!

Friday, July 10, 2009

98 dtg!!!

Today was catch up day. I was able to get my homework done early, which left me enough time to fix some invites that were incorrectly addressed, as well as make 2 more invitations--late additions from my parent's side. I was also able to browse jewelry, shoes and hair accessories online.....still have yet to make a purchase, but hey! At least I'm looking!

I saw this cute video on Bridezilla.com..... OMG. It's a video wedding invitation and they did it all with stop animation. If you think about it, it must have taken FOREVER to make this video! And it's so creative!

Thursday, July 9, 2009

99 dtg!!!!

OMG.........down to two digit numbers!!!! Wowsa.

So my MOH sent me some of the pictures that she took of me folding and fluffing the papers for the pomanders....

Obviously here I was struggling somewhat with the process....trying to figure out how to fluff them without tearing. Yes, I understand my face looks comical.

Here, I am obviously calmer, as I have gotten the hang of the process.

This one is not finished, but you get the idea with the ribbon! It looks quite full even though the entire other side is not done!

This is another version of a pomander we worked on. It's covered in green ribbon, and then pinned with tiny paper flower cutouts in different patterned paper. So cute! I'm not so sure where we will incorporate these.... maybe also near the ceremony or the courtyard area.

They were lots of fun to mock up. Now to create an easy assembly line for the sweatshop I'm about to open up in August with all my friends!

100 dtg!!!!

Aiyaiyaiyaiyaiii!!!!!!!!! OMG 100 days and counting! Tra la la la!!

Went to go try on the wedding shoes that I am hoping to buy, only to find out that the place that SAID they had them, in fact did not. So what do I do now? Just blindly order them hoping that they will fit and I will love them oh-so-much!? We will see.

Then MOH and I headed over to Michaels to pick up some craft supplies for the pomander projects we were about to embark upon.

After a few hours of cutting and pinning, folding and fanning, we got some great mock-ups going. I don't have pictures yet, but I will.......and I will be sure to post!! Because they are oh-so-cute!!!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

101 dtg!!!!

Like a hundred and one dalmations!

I have a little friend here to keep me company while I study and blog!
Nothing much going on today. I did study more, read more and turn in my first assignment!
Tomorrow I am going to try on my bridal shoes in the right size before determining if I should order them online or not. Then hopefully I will get some wedding crafts done with my MOH. I figure I should have at least one day a week where I get stuff done. Wednesdays will probably be the day!

Monday, July 6, 2009

102 dtg!!!!

I see the wedding planning being sloooooooooooowed down for the month of July. Which is a good and bad thing.

I don't want to get behind and stress out those last couple of months.

But I do think I could use somewhat of a break.......how long of a break? Maybe a couple days here and there. I'm sure I'll be recruiting my friends within the near future.

The good thing is I did just spend over 3 hours with my head in a textbook for the first time in 2 years probably. My psychology class started tonight and I have 4 weeks to read 25 chapters, do 6 assignments, take 2 exams and write 1 five page paper.....yeah....I don't think I will have much time for wedding planning. I have always been interested in the development on someone's psyche and the nature of psychology and people, so this is kind of fun for me.

I'll still be sure to post everynight (hopefully if I remember)....although these posts might not be as exciting, in depth or at all interesting.

103 dtg!!!!!

(okay we are up to date)

Woke up at a decent time actually considering all the drinking done the night before. Casey made breakfast again for us-- french toast and bacon...yummm! The four of us were quite wiped out from yesterday's day in the sun, plus all the alcohol. But we leisurely chilled out and engaged in some painting/craft activities before heading out into the real world.

We took the scenic route through Ione and Lockeford, which doesn't have a whole lot to look at......and the radio was off, so this is what happened......

Johanne and Jaya sound asleep.....

Annie dozed off for a little bit.....

AND the driver!!! Just kidding.

After we stopped for gas, Starbucks and Taco Bell, we were all in good spirits again. We ended up playing 20 questions games for the last 2 hours of the trip. Suprisingly we were able to guess each one within 20 questions.....granted it was all a group effort. But hey!....... It was a very entertaining end to a great trip.

104 dtg!!!!

(Supposed to be posted on Saturday July 4th, 2009)

Woke up this morning, had a guick bite to eat, gave the girls a tour of the property, took a few trips down memory lane, then headed to the store for snacks and off to a friends house for some swimming, lounging, drinking, sun bathing, laughing, relaxing, eating.......napping..... and what not.

Headed back home where Casey cooked a delicious dinner for us. My brother and his girlfriend showed up in time to show us how to play beer pong--we ended up drinking hypnotic....beer eww-- then played pictionary, danced--i'm sure i made a fool of myself--and eventually passed out. I don't think I was that intoxicated, as I was able to make myself a cup of tea, and read some stories from the "Chicken Soup for the Women's Soul" before going to sleep. Some of those stories were quite lame, while others were inspiring, as I looked to them for pieces of wisdom as I head into a new journey of my life......marriage.

105 dtg!!!

(Supposed to be posted on Friday July 3rd, 2009)

Headed out to the woods today with Casey and the girls. We all crammed into Casey's car, which even though it was tight, we were able to all fit with luggage. The fun began right away as we pulled up to In 'N Out and had a long complex order that Casey tried to convey to the poor girl behind the window. We thought she was going to spit in our food. Hah!

There surprisingly was no traffic; assumed that everyone in the bay area had already headed out to their destinations earlier in the day. We made it to my parents while it was still somewhat light out so that was nice.

My mother...being motherly.....was very accomodating to us and our guests, making sure everyone felt at home. I see that trait starting to show in myself as I wanted to make sure everyone was comfy with their sleeping situations.

Tomorrow the adventure begins.....

Thursday, July 2, 2009

106 dtg!!!!

Well the next couple of days shall be a fun adventure as Casey and I head out to Placerville with my MOH, and two other girlfriends. I'm sure there'll be hiking, swimming, lounging, drinking, laughing.....a whole lot of adventure since the girls have never been to Pville. Road trip!!!

So with that being said, I will probably have to catch up on the posts on Sunday since there isn't much reception up there. Yeah, the boondocks.

Once we get back, I start a Psychology summer school class on Monday! Back to school!!! It goes for the whole month of July....and my first assignment is due on Wednesday...... Yeesh! So, I am sure that wedding details will be put off for a little bit while I study. Here's to keeping my life stress free and sane!

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

107 dtg!!!!

Well, today was spent painting all day at a workshop....to learn...and play....for work!!! Fun right!?

I keep realizing when I sign my name that that will all soon change! It's those little things that remind you what you are actually doing when you get married, and I still don't think that has set in yet! I'm going to have to figure out a new way to sign my initials and my signature....I'll have to get a new driver's license....change all the names on my credit cards and bank info.....get new car insurance, health insurance (well, at this point get health insurance period!).......oh so many things to do!

But it's all worth it! So excited!!!!
